Lincoln Road is an important landmark within not only within Miami Beach, but also regionally and globally. This cosmopolitan pedestrian corridor welcomes people from all over the world and is a meaningful place for local citizens. However, this space has a premature end and is disconnected from the ocean. The goal is to connect the existing high impact activity of Lincoln Road in order to serve as a catalyst for many different activities. This space provides one of the best public spaces for multiple, cultural and commercial activities in close relationship with natural coastal landscapes.
The goal is not only connecting but expanding the spectrum of activities to the ocean; in this way the design loops bringing the ocean to Lincoln Road and land to the ocean:
-
Sharing the Road
-
Extending Lincoln Road
-
Flexible Open Space
-
Biotic Corridor
